Ramen

It's possible to have a balanced diet with ramen!

Ramen does not have great reputations when it comes to nutritional values.

It's true that ramen is garbage when you consume it 3 meals a day, without adding other ingradients. However, if you don't abuse ramen this way, it could serve as a concrete part of your diet.

Similar to other foods with soup, ramen is in general, high in sodium. So if you'd like to eat ramen regularly, keep these in mind:

  • Choose ramens with relatively low sodium content. Although all ramens are salty, some contains over 200% DV sodium per bag, while others contain 60% DV sodium per bag. That could be a big difference in the long run.

  • Restrict the consumption of ramen to at most one time per day. When you decide to eat ramen on a certain day, do not eat any other high sodium food on the same day.

  • Add eggs and veggies to the ramen.

  • If possible, eat ramen with un-fried noodle.
